Train Ticket Amendments & Cancellations
Depending on the type of train ticket you purchased and the terms and condition applicable to it you may be able to cancel and obtain a refund or make changes to / amend your ticket.
If you are unsure what type of ticket you have purchased please refer to your email booking confirmation to determine the ticket type that you purchased.
Please note that whether or not a ticket is amendable or refundable is determined by the fare type which is set by the train operating companies, and not by Split Ticketing or Raileasy. The same applies to the administration fee you will be charge for ticket amendments and cancellations.
Amending Your Train Ticket
Generally travel dates and times on all train tickets are able to be amended, but is important that you are aware of the following:-
- You can amend dates and times but NOT the departure point, destination or train operator.
- Amendments should be processed within 28 days of the travel date that you wish to amend.
- If the fare type paid is no longer available or has changed the cost of the new fare will apply.
- You will be charged a £10 administrative fee for refunding your original ticket.
How To Amend Your Ticket(s)
You may request ticket amendments in person at any National Rail station with a staffed ticketing counter. Please note that at a station you will be charged £10 per passenger / per journey plus any increase in ticket cost.
If you purchased tickets through Split Ticketing, Railsaver or Raileasy, you may also request an amendment at this page.
Important: To amend your train tickets online please first re-book a new ticket online with your new dates/times using the booking form at this page and complete the refund / amemdment form after you have received your new ticket booking reference.
Canceling Your Train Ticket / Requesting a Refund
Generally only Off-Peak and Advance fare train tickets that are cancelled are refundable.
- You have within 28 days of the travel date for a single and of the return date for returns to cancel your booking.
- All refunds for cancelled bookings will be made back to the credit / debit card that was used to complete payment for them.
- Please first check if your ticket is cancelable/refundable before submitting a refund request. You will find this information in you confirmation email.

Very Important: If you have already collected your original tickets or the tickets have been posted out to you must first post the original tickets back to Raileasy at the address given below before they can refund you.
